I currently love Canon gear. Initially it was because Canon gear is plentiful and loved by professionals and amateurs alike; the market for new and used Canon EOS gear is the most active in the world of enthusiast photography. I found a couple of great Canon primes. Then along came the low noise 5D full frame CMOS sensor... and I could use some great ol' manual focus Nikkor glass on it as well. The 5D certainly sealed the deal.

For shooting low-light gigs I usually use my 5D and Nikkor wideangle glass, with and without flash. If the lighting is up to it, I use Canon autofocus glass. I shoot manually and generally use a flash head on its lowest setting. I use hoods and sacrificial filters (I hate lenscaps).
